The Brit’s photos from around the world

One of the things I love about travelling is it lets you be creative in so many different ways – for me, that’s writing and photography.

The travel writer Paul Theroux once said, “even two people going to exactly the same place, travelling at the same time, will come back with two different stories,” and this is the same with photography. People see different things, just as they react differently to their settings and surroundings.

When you’re backpacking and travelling, you’re opening yourself up to some of the world’s most stunning sights and attractions. It doesn’t matter if you find yourself standing in front of the terrific Taj Mahal in India, overlooking the ancient ruins of magical Machu Picchu in Peru, or feeling the full force of Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe; you’ll want to capture the moment. And when you’re surrounded by such beauty, the photos almost take themselves.

I have to admit, there are few things in life that make me happier than wandering around a new country with my music in my ears and my camera around my neck; that’s when I’m at my most creative, and I would like to think my photography reflects that.

I started to really get into photography about five years ago in India. I remember being stunned on a daily basis, and I was glad I had a half decent camera with me. Since then, I have been honing my skills around the world.

These are just a few of my favourite photos from a few of my favourite countries. I have no doubt a lot more is to come.
