All you have to do is make up a random travel quote!

** This competition is now closed **
Congratulations to Ed Hyatt from Climbr for winning
the waterproof backpack filled with goodies!

One of the things we love at An Adventurous World are quotes. More specifically, travel quotes. In fact, we love travel quotes so much that we even have a little quote book with us when we’re on the road to jot down some random sentence or thought we’ve just come across (by the way, we think you should get a little quote book too; if you ever want to go back to a particular place or moment in time, just get your little quote book out and have a read).

Now we’re sure you’re all familiar with quotes such as:

The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page – Saint Augustine

and

Not all those who wander are lost – J.R.R. Tolkien

but we think, for want over a better word, that these quotes are a little overused.

That’s why we want you to come up with some new travel quotes!

We want you to make up your own travel quotes, no matter how random or weird they are, and leave them in the comments box below.

Your travel quote can be absolutely anything, for a particularly poignant haiku you made up in Hanamaki to some sentence you spewed out at 4am on a beach in Thailand. Whatever they are, we want to read them.

We really want you to be inspired to travel, to do something different, and we want you to inspire each other too. That’s why we thought you could inspire each other with your travel quotes.

Also, once the competition is finished, we’re going to select a few of your travel quotes and turn them into a really cool blog post, so even more reason to be involved!

How win the waterproof backpack filled with goodies

Obviously you want to know how to enter the competition, and it really couldn’t be any easier.

All you have to do is this:

  • Post your made-up travel quote in the comments box below (please note: you really do have to make it up)
  • If you’re commenting for the first time, just make sure you use a valid email address so we can contact you if you’ve won
  • You’re done. That’s it. Told you it was simple

What’s in the goody bag?

So we’re giving away an awesome Aquabourne sports bag from Cabin Max, a backpack that’s perfect for outdoor adventures, particularly hiking. The bag has a completely waterproof lining and a roll down top, so it really will keep your possessions safe and dry. It’s also got a ribbed padded back, so it’s comfy too. All in all, great bag this one.

What else is in the goody bag?

Okay, so in the bag there’s:

  • A black Merrell hiking t-shirt
  • A random BlogStock festival t-shirt (could be a good gym shirt)
  • A buff (like a scarf, but thinner. Great for travelling. We love these things)
  • A water canister
  • A thick Expedia towel
  • A travel accessory pack
  • A notepad (might be a little too big for a little quote book but you never know!)
  • A Manfrotto pocket tripod perfect for your compact camera
  • A couple of padlocks (always useful)
  • A few other random bits and bobs

Now we think that’s a damn good goody bag!

When does the competition close?

The competition closes at 23:59 on Sunday 27th September 2015, that’s a little over two weeks from now, so make sure you’re in it to win it!

So there you have it. We’re really looking forward to seeing some of your travel quotes – happy posting people!

Travelling is like an all-you-can-eat buffet. It’s good to try a bit of everything, some things you love, some you hate but at the end of the day, there’s always room for just a bit more.

It’s okay to have not seen everything, it only makes it that much more beautiful to return.
