Backpacking in Guatemala
Guatemala is a bit of a favourite amongst backpackers with nothing but good times to be had, as Macca and Brianna found out for themselves.
Guatemala is up there as one of the most popular countries in Central America and it is an amazing place to travel around. Historical sites don't come much bigger and better than Tikal, the scenery doesn't get much more beautiful than around Lake Atitlán, and towns aren't much cuter than Antigua.
One of the things I loved about travelling around Guatemala was just how varied everything was. There really is so much to see and do here (as I show in my Travel in Guatemala episode), and it's a country you can't help but fall in love with. I know I did anyway!

With cobble-stoned streets and brightly coloured buildings, there’s no denying the beauty of Antigua, but is it just another tourist town on the gringo trail?
Recently we were stuck in the middle of a Guatemalan protest all about the price of maize. What ensued is a story all about magic and memories.
From the smallest cluster of stones to the tallest pyramid the whole site is incredibly impressive, and taking in Tikal is a must on any trip to Guatemala.
