The Founding Fathers of Bulgaria is a huge monument that commemorates the first Bulgarian Empire, an ever present reminder of the proud past.
Bulgaria is a bit of a surprise package. Firstly, it's got some really beautiful beaches (and a bouncing party scene to go with it!) which not many people know about. Secondly, there are deep dense forests with brilliant hiking trails to lose yourself on. And thirdly, the people are so warm and welcoming. Yep, it's safe to say I like Bulgaria a lot.
When I travelled around Bulgaria I became a bit obsessed with finding colossal communist statues all over the country which led to me taking the best (and by far the most dangerous) selfie of my entire life. Take a look and you'll see what I mean!

Below me was Buzludzha, the ex-communist headquarters in Bulgaria. As in 70 metres below. I was risking life & limb to take the ultimate selfie.
